Break 2 hittin’ a Preds game
It all started at an Oakland High School dance that “B” and I were booked to DJ back in 1988 or 89. To make a long story short we almost got that dance shutdown because of a song we played. We still laugh about that today. A lot has happened in those 30 years since, but in early 2019 “B” reached out to me on Facebook to see if I wanted to grab a cup of coffee and catch up. The rest is history. We decided to write a couple of songs together. Since that early 2019 I’ve written 175 tracks for Break 2 and we’ve recorded about 60 songs together to come up with the final track list for the debut Break Two record. The sound is definitely not modern Hip-Hop. Neither “B” or I could ever get into it. Speaking for myself, I never made it past the mid nineties and it shows in our style. I hope there is an audience for our brand of hip-hop, but even if there’s not we sure are having fun creating it.
